Merry Christmas!
It’s the final day of the advent calendar, which means it’s Christmas! I hope you all have a lovely day, whatever and however you celebrate.
I won’t give any spoilers for the final entry here. After the hex fill you’ll also find a short Appendix N of works that were influential or inspiring during the writing of this thing. I highly recommend all of them.
At some point in the next week or two I’ll upload ‘complete’ PDF and epub versions that collate all of the entries and extras into one file for ease of use. I’m going to aim to get this done before New Year.
I also have plans to make an anthology of all of the advent calendar adventures. I don’t know what the timeline for this looks like, but I’ll keep you updated on the status of this. I’m going to give everyone who bought the digital version a discount code for that as a thank you, and part of the process of producing that book will be in figuring out how much that should be (because with the rising price everybody has contributed a different amount to the digital versions). I think the fairest way is to take the average price people paid for this, but I’m open to suggestions!
This year I’ve also kept meticulous notes about sales and promotional efforts on my part, and I’ll be writing up a postmortem about this project in January if anybody is interested.
This year has been a tough one for me and I haven’t produced much personal work - it’s been the slowest year of my career, with only one self-released book to show for it before this advent calendar. Drithwyn Weald has been a really nice way to end the year for me, and the fact that it’s been so successful has been a big mental and emotional boost that I sorely needed, so thank you very much indeed for picking it up and coming on this journey with me. I hope you’ve enjoyed it.
Merry Christmas, and have a great new year.
-Chris
